STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) - A Dodge County jury has convicted Brian Cooper of two counts of first-degree intentional homicide of a pregnant woman at a Door County resort.
Jurors deliberated for about three hours before returning the guilty verdict for the charges, which carry mandatory life prison terms. The first trial ended in a hung jury on those intentional homicide counts.
Sentencing will be on July 24. Judge Todd Ehlers will decide if or when Cooper may be eligible for parole.
Alisha Bromfield accompanied Cooper to his sister’s wedding at the resort in 2012.
After she rebuffed his romantic advances, he strangled her. Cooper also sexually her afterwards – something the first jury convicted Cooper of.
