APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - Prosecutors in Outagamie County have filed charges against a former teacher's aide for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.
44-year-old Laura Bates is already facing charges in Calumet County. On Friday, Bates was charged with two counts of sexual assault by a staff member. She's due for an initial appearance is set for March 18.
Authorities say Bates allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy, who's a special education student. Bates was in his classroom as a paraprofessional at Appleton West High School.
She is due in Calumet County for a preliminary hearing on four counts March 11.
