(WNFL) - The Wisconsin women's basketball team will open its Big Ten Conference schedule tonight at Illinois. The Badgers are coming off a four-point home overtime victory over U-W Green Bay on Monday night. It marked the first time in five years that Wisconsin beat all three of the state's other Division-One schools in the same season. Michala Johnson scored 22 points in that game, making all but one of her 10 shots from the floor. The Badgers went 7-and-5 in their non-conference schedule. Illinois went 7-and-6, and they're 6-and-0 at home -- but the Illini has not won a Big Ten opener in three seasons. Guard-and-forward Amber Moore leads Illinois with almost 19 points and six-and-a-half rebounds per game. Also tonight, the U-W Parkside men and women will both host Quincy.
