TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ) - Two Rivers police say a 34-year-old man lost control of his car following an altercation and crashed into two vehicles parked in a driveway early Sunday.
It happened in the 700 block of Columbus Street around 3 a.m.
“There was a gentleman standing in the driver’s side door of the car screaming for someone to call the cops. I didn’t know what was going on. He said that his friend was stabbed,” Ryan Welnetz told FOX 11.
Welnetz, who's a volunteer firefighter, quickly jumped into action.
“I grabbed a towel, came outside and tried keeping pressure on it just to stop the bleeding,” Welnetz said.
Two Rivers Police Chief Joseph Collins says Koyoko Perry’s injury stemmed from an assault a few blocks away.
“The victim got back into the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene and lost control of his vehicle on the 700 block,” Collins told FOX 11.
Authorities say Perry is dead. Officials say 54-year-old Jesse Moreno of Two Rivers has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide. Collins says that Moreno is married to Perry's mother.
A motive for the crime has not been revealed. Moreno appeared in court Monday and had his bail set at $250,000 cash.
