Brewers bounce back in rubber game

The Milwaukee Brewers welcome the first home run of the season from shortstop Jean Segura in beating the San Diego Padres 5-2 at Miller Park Wednesday night.   Segura launched a three run shot in the second inning that gave Milwaukee a 4-1 lead.   Khris Davis added a solo shot which was more than enough for Kyle Lohse.  He improved to 4-1 on the season, giving up five hits and two runs, only one earned in seven innings.   The Padres struck first in the top of the first but Ryan Braun answered with an RBI double in the bottom half.   Lohse and the bullpen did the rest.   Will Smith and Tyler Thornburg combined to pitch the 8th and Francisco Rodriguez struck out a pair in the ninth for his ninth save of the season.  Smith and Rodriguez have yet to give up in a run in 12 appearances each.  Thornburg is now on 11 straight appearances without allowing an earned run.   The Brewers take two of the three and are now 5-2 in seaon series.  Milwaukee (16-6) is back on top of St. Louis by four games in the NL Central and they'll enjoy a day off Thursday before welcoming the Chicago Cubs to Miller Park for a weekend series beginning Friday night.
