The Milwaukee Brewers and the Atlanta Braves hooked up in a classic pitcher's duel Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park. Matt Garza, in his Milwaukee debut, and Atlanta's Aaron Harang both had no hitters going through the first six innings. Who would blink first? It was Garza unfortunately, as he gave up a two out, solo home run to Chris Johnson in the top of the 7th inning. It was the only run the Braves would need in a 1-0 victory. Garza worked through eight innings, giving up just two hits with seven strikeouts. Harang had his no-hit bid spoiled by Logan Schafer's single in the bottom of the 7th, one of just two hits for Milwaukee on the day. Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth for his second straight save. The Brewers (1-2) will travel Thursday before facing the World Champion Boston Red Sox in their home opener at Fenway Park on Friday afternoon.
