GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Green Bay police have arrested a person of interest in several recent crimes.
Police had previously announced they were looking for 16-year-old Kevin Sierra-Lopez in connection with three crimes in August.
The first incident was a stabbing on August 6 at 2077 Imperial Lane. Cops say they were called to that address just after 10:20 a.m. A 27-year-old man had confronted a neighbor about a domestic issue between the two of them and a woman. Friends of the neighbor attacked the 27-year-old, who was stabbed several times in the torso and hit in the head with a metal object. The injuries were severe, but not life-threating.
The second incident happened just before 9:20 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Green Bay Yacht Club, 100 Bay Beach Road. Officers say a 54-year-old man and his 30-year-old son were leaving the yacht club when several males confronted them. The attackers told the father and son to give them their money and then attacked them. The victims fought off the would-be robbers and suffered minor injuries, but nothing was taken. Investigators say they later learned the attackers had burglarized a boat earlier in the week and had returned to burglarize another boat. When they saw the father and son, they decided to try to rob them. In this case, two people have been arrested.
The third incident happened around 9:15 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 400 block of Mather St. A man who was delivering pizzas was beaten in a robbery attempt. The robbers went through the man’s pockets looking for money, but he didn’t have any. Investigators say this upset one of the attackers, who repeatedly beat and kicked the victim in the head. He suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized, but has since been released and is recovering. Police say they are requesting criminal charges against several people in this case, one of whom was also involved in the Green Bay Yacht Club incident.
On Sunday night, authorities arrested Sierra-Lopez in the 2000 block of Basten Street. They credit a Crimestoppers tip with helping them find Sierra-Lopez.
Authorities say he is in jail awaiting possible criminal charges.
