MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - The state DNR is inviting people to spend some of their Halloween chatting about whooping cranes.
An online chat is scheduled for noon next Thursday, to discuss efforts to raise populations of the endangered cranes.
Joan Garland of the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo will lead the chat along with Heather Ray of Operation Migration -- the group that has spent about a dozen years boosting crane populations in the eastern U.S.
The chat can be accessed from the DNR's Web site by entering the phrase "Ask the Experts." It will also be in the "Cover It Live Chat" on the DNR's Facebook page.
