(WNFL) - Quarterback Josh Freeman struggled in his first start with the Vikings, and the Giants beat Minnesota 23-7 last night in Monday Night Football in New Jersey. The newly-acquired Freeman was 20-of-53 for 190 yards with an interception for Minnesota, which fell to 1-and-5 on the season. Star running back Adrian Peterson couldn't get anything mustered offensively, either. Peterson was held to 28 yards on 13 carries. Rochester native Marcus Sherels (SHARE-uhls), a former Golden Gopher, returned a punt 86 yards for a score for Minnesota's lone touchdown of the evening. New York's Peyton Hillis had 81 total yards and a rushing touchdown while Eli Manning threw for 200 yards and a T-D for the winners. The Vikings host Green Bay on Sunday night.
