GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Fire crews are dealing with a smoking set of paint barrels at a Green Bay manufacturer Monday.
The call goes out just before 8:30 a.m. to Carboline on the city's east side. Smoke was coming from a set of six 55-gallon drums outside the building.
According to firefighters, someone had improperly mixed a two-part epoxy paint together. They were concerned about a possible fire or explosion, as well as fumes escaping.
The business was evacuated and people in the neighborhood around University Avenue and Elizabeth Street were told to stay indoors as firefighters doused the drums with water.
Fire crews were still on the scene as of 11 a.m., but said they believed the intensity had lessened.
