DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) - Charter flight company MetJet closed their only office in De Pere Friday for "safety reasons".
The company announced Wednesday they are stopping flight operations to Florida starting Oct. 26th. Cancun trips were to start in December.
The company said it was going keep its office open to talk with customers and process refunds, but with shorter hours. After two busy days, founder and CEO Michael Heisman said that was no longer possible.
Heisman says he has received death threats, people have said they would push him in front of a bus, people have thrown things, and made rude and inappropriate comments.
“It’s getting out of hand, and we need to process refunds as quickly as possible,” Heisman said.
Heisman says credit card companies can now process refunds.
MetJet staff continue to process refunds at remote locations. Refund inquires can be made at firstname.lastname@example.org
