DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) After a year in business, De Pere based charter flight company MetJet is ceasing all flight operations starting Oct. 26th.
In a release, MetJet Founder and CEO Michael Heisman says after looking at the months ahead, it is clear that they do not have enough demand or customers to continue operating.
Flights scheduled for October 16th 19th and the 23rd will continue to operate.
MetJet says reservations for resorts, hotels or Disney Vacations booked through MetJet Vacations will not be affected, because those payments were made independently of MetJet.
The company tried to fill a need to vacation hotspots and started service to Orlando and Fort Meyers Florida. Flights to Cancun, Mexico and Minneapolis, Minnesota were set to begin December 7th.
Just last week, the company was celebrating it’s one year anniversary and the 40,000 passengers that have flown so far. The company ran promotions like buy one ticket get two free.
The release says MetJet is preparing refunds for those passengers who qualify. The company will have staff on hand throughout the process at their De Pere office between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Passengers can also email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about their refund.
