WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ) - A Clintonville woman targeted by protesters over the condition of her horses has been charged.
On Wednesday, Barbara Thiry was charged with 15 misdemeanors: five counts of intentionally failing to provide food for animals, five counts of intentionally improperly sheltering an animal outside, and five counts of intentionally mistreating animals.
She is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Tuesday in Waupaca County court.
During the last several weeks, those concerned about the condition of the animals have raised their concerns to the media and law enforcement.
The sheriff's department met with Thiry and enacted a series of orders designed to treat the situation.
