Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are in Denver this week to help build homes with Habitat for Humanity. The couple has been involved with the organization for the past six years through the President Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. The families who move into the Habitat homes buy the homes at zero-percent interest, but they must put in a lot of work building other homes to qualify.

Garth tells Denver's 9News , "They put in incredible sweat equity. It is a 500-hour minimum."

There will be 400 other volunteers on this build, but Garth isn't surprised at the large number of people showing up to help out.  He notes, "You take away more than you put in. You just do."

Garth and Trisha traveled to Haiti last year to work with President Carter on another Habitat for Humanity build project.
