The body of 19-year-old Lance Corporal Jeremiah Collins Jr. of Milwaukee arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
The Pentagon confirmed Monday that Collins died on Saturday at Camp Leatherneck in the Afghan province of Helmand. The military did not say how he died, and his family says the cause remains under investigation.
Collins was an intelligence specialist in Afghanistan. He joined the Marines 16 months ago, and was promoted to lance corporal in May.
