MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Folks in northern Wisconsin might not believe it -- but southern Wisconsin is getting its first notable snow of the season.

Drivers are having a hard time dealing with it.

Interstate 94 in Racine County had all three of its northbound lanes closed for an hour-and-a-half Monday morning as the result of a traffic crash.

Milwaukee County reported a rash of spinouts. Sheriff's spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin said the first real snow of the season also catches motorists off guard.

It's old hat to folks in the north, where Winchester in Vilas County had a repeat storm this weekend with around 5 inches.

Edgerton in Rock County had 2 inches of snow Sunday night and Monday morning. Madison had around one-and-a-half inches, and Milwaukee less than an inch.

The far north has had several notable snows since late October.

The National Weather Service said the north could see more light snow showers Monday night. More light snow is possible statewide Tuesday.
