Brewers have forgettable Memorial Day

by

The Minnesota Twins spoiled the holdiay for the Milwaukee Brewers scoring a 6-3 victory  Monday afternoon at Miller Park.  Wily Peralta dropped his fourth straight decision because of control issues.  He worked five innings, throwing over a hundred pitches, giving up 4 runs and walking five.  Joe Mauer hit a home run that was originally ruled a double and was reviewed by replay.  Chris Parmalee also went deep for the visitors.  The Brewers had a chance to jump on starter Kevin Correia, trailing 1-0 and loading the bases in the first inning but they failed to score.  Carlos Gomez continued his torrid stretch for the Brewers, hitting a pair of solo home runs for the second time in three days.  Gomez now has 10 homers on the season and he's hitting a robust .331.   Jean Segura also went deep but it wasn't enough.  The Brewers (19-30) slip back to the basement of the NL Central Division, 13 and a half games behind St. Louis.  Milwaukee sends Alfredo Figaro against Scott Diamond in the homestand finale Tuesday night before resuming the interleague series against the Twins at the Metrodome Wednesday night.  Pre-game coverage begins at 6:35 on WTAQ.
