Pirates hold off Milwaukee Brewers rally to win 5-4 Sunday

MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Taking two out of three games in a weekend series at Miller Park, the Pittsburgh Pirates are still just 10-47 in Milwaukee over the last six seasons.

The Pirates built a four-run lead behind lefty Wandy Rodriguez, then had to hold of the rallying Brewers by a 5-4 score. It was the 4th straight win for Rodriguez.

Pedro Alvarez followed Saturday's two-homer game with a big two-run double.

The Pirates lit up Milwaukee starter Yovani Galladro for 4 runs in 4 innings of work. He took his 5th loss in eight decisions.

Ryan Braun’s bases-loaded double in the 5th cut the lead to 4-3.

Pittsburgh got a run on a sacrifice fly in the 6th and Milwaukee scored the same way in the 8th.

Jason Grilli pitched a scoreless ninth and picked up his 20th save.
