KANSAS CITY, MO (WTAQ) - The season is over for the Wisconsin Badgers after an upset loss to Mississippi Friday, 57-46.
The problem was simple – the Badgers couldn’t shoot. They hit just 25 percent of their floor shots, 22 percent from outside the three-point line.
Ole Miss was making its first NCAA appearance in 11 years after a resurgent season. The Rebels play La Salle Sunday, another upset winner.
Sam Dekker led the Badgers with 14 points.
Mississippi’s Marshall Henderson shook off a cold start to lead all scorers with 19. He missed 13 of his first 14 shots, but started to connect midway through the second half.
Wisconsin finishes an up-and-down season with a 23-12 record. The Badgers had made it to the Sweet 16 each of the last two seasons.
