OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - The man accused in the Christmas Eve 2011 shooting that paralyzed his brother-in-law during a family gathering has been found not guilty by reason of insanity.
Christopher Andreas was convicted of four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety for the shooting of Christopher Garland on Dec. 24th of that year in Winnebago County.
In court Tuesday, Judge Thomas Gritton made the insanity ruling.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 3, at which time Andreas will be committed to the Department of Health for treatment.
