GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - If you’re looking for a way to help fight cancer, the American Cancer Society is looking for 1,200 northeast Wisconsin residents to be part of a new Cancer Prevention Study.
It’s the third of its kind and requires a 20 to 30 year commitment.
It’s part of a larger national study involving 300,000 people.
You have to be between the ages of 30 and 65 and never have been diagnosed with cancer.
American Cancer Society spokesperson Laurie Pagel says participants must answer follow up surveys every 18 to 24 months.
Previous studies provided linked cancer to smoking and obesity that led to policy changes at the government level, including warning labels on cigarettes.
The American Cancer Society is hosting a enrollment kick-off at the Green Bay Distillery at noon Tuesday.
