GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Heavy, wet snowfall across Northeast Wisconsin is causing major driving headaches.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has closed the Leo Frigo Memorial Bridge due to low visibility.
Drivers who use Interstate 43 are being asked to detour as follows:
- Southbound traffic should exit at Velp Avenue. Go east on Velp to Mather Street, then east on Mather to Broadway Avenue. Go south on Broadway to Main Street. Then east on Main to Monroe Avenue, continue on Monroe to University Drive to Webster Avenue. Go north on Webster back to I-43.
- Northbound traffic should reverse these directions.
A crash on Highway 41 near Scheuring Road in De Pere is just one of many traffic incidents Monday afternoon.
Police agencies are reminding drivers of slippery conditions as this brief snowstorm moves through.
FOX 11 meteorologists expect the snow to move out of Northeast Wisconsin tonight.
