UPDATE: Green Bay Police arrest 2 after west side incident


GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Police in Green Bay say they've arrested two people while continuing to investigate a report of possbile shots fired on the city's west side.

Cops were called to the area of 142 N. Ashland Avenue around 2:30 a.m. for a report of a possible gun shot. Officers had received information that a possible suspect was inside that address.

Officers had called in the SWAT team to help, while they made several attempts to get people to exit the home.

Eventually, police made contact with 2 residents and took them into custody.

23-year-old Joseph Tynan was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A search warrant was obtained and officers found a handgun in the attic, which was reported stolen in 2012.

21-year-old Erica Kaufman was also arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The stretch of Ashland from Dousman to Shawano was shut down from 2:30 to 7:30 a.m. while authorities were on scene.

Green Bay Police say community service interns will be going around the neighborhood to let residents know what happened.
