Van Hollen elected President of NAAG

MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) --  Wisconsin’s Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has a new assignment. He’s been elected to lead the National Association of Attorneys General. NAAG spokesperson Marjorie Tharp says the fifty states and six U.S. territories decided to make Van Hollen their President during their summer meeting Wednesday in Boston.

Each President selects a focus area during their one-year term in office. Van Hollen is sticking to an issue he has been pushing hard in Wisconsin, and that’s keeping children safe. Van Hollen has pushed for expansion to his department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and also stepped up efforts to catch human trafficking.

The national President’s Initiative Summit for the group will meet and share ideas in Milwaukee this September.
