Paape found guilty of killing elderly Sheboygan Falls woman

by

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WSAU) -- The 14-year-old accused of bludgeoning his friend’s great-grandmother to death in Sheboygan Falls has been found guilty. The jury returned a guilty verdict on Nathan Paape Thursday for being party to the crime of first-degree intentional homicide.

Paape and his friend Antonio Barbeau were accused of killing 78-year-old Barbara Olson last September. Both of the teens testified on the witness stand, and had vastly different stories about what really happened that day.

Paape said the murder and robbery was Barbeau’s idea, and that Barbeau planned everything. He told the court he thought Barbeau was joking about killing his great-grandmother.

Barbeau has already been convicted of first-degree intentional homicide. Both boys now awaiting sentencing.
