Florida Georgia Line 's "Cruise" is #1 on Billboard ' s Hot Country Songs chart for a 21st week, which means the track is now in a four-way tie for the longest reign at the top in the chart's 69-year history. The song benefits from the chart's change last fall to include streaming and download figures along with radio airplay to determine chart positions. The release of the "Cruise (Remix)" with Nelly boosted download and streaming figures for the song too. So far, it's sold more than 5 million downloads, making it the third biggest selling country download ever behind Lady Antebellum 's "Need You Now" and Taylor Swift 's "Love Story."
The last time a song spent 21 week at #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart was 1955 when Webb Pierce did it with "In the Jailhouse Now." Hank Snow spent 21 weeks at #1 in 1950 and 1951 with "I'm Moving On," and Eddy Arnold was the first to spend that long at the top in 1947 and 1948 with "I'll Hold You in My Heart (Till I Can Hold You in My Arms)."
