Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town lost her brother-in-law, Allen Schlapman , when a drunk driver crossed the median and hit his motorcycle head-on last November in Nashville. Now, that driver is going to jail for a long time.
Kimberly tweeted Monday, "My husband lost his brother to a drunk driver the day before thanksgiving last yr. Today that man was sentenced to 22 yrs in prison, but…that doesn't bring our brother back. Please don't drink and drive."
Allen Schlapman was visiting Kimberly and her husband Stephen for Thanksgiving at the time of the accident. He leaves behind his wife Linda and their daughter Rachel Allyn .
Kimberly's husband, Steve Schlapman, tweeted at the end of the sentencing, "Guilt admitted, remorse expressed, forgiveness requested and granted." Kimberly added, "My husband is a gracious man."
