MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Federal Judge William Conley of Madison plans to hear arguments July 17th on a lawsuit that challenges Wisconsin’s newest abortion restrictions.
The law requires abortion candidates to have ultrasounds, so they can see how their unborn children are taking shape.
Also, doctors at abortion clinics must have hospital admitting privileges – something Planned Parenthood said was designed to close its clinic in Appleton, which has no such doctors.
Planned Parenthood and Affiliated Medical Services filed the suit last Friday, just hours after Republican Governor Scott Walker signed the bill into law.
It officially takes effect Monday.
