HOWARD, WI (WTAQ) - An Internal Revenue Service office in Howard got a bit a scare Monday afternoon after the Brown County hazardous materials team was called in for a letter that appeared to be “spongy”.
Captain Jeff Sanborn says the letter was received in the IRS mail room post marked in New York, with no return address.
The letter was analyzed by the HazMat team on location and they determined it to be innocent.
It was stuffed with paper receipts.
The letter and documents were turned back over to the IRS.
