Kenny Chesney promises fans a great escape from the mundane, daily grind with his new single, "Pirate Flag," hitting the airwaves Wednesday, January 30. It's the first single from Kenny's upcoming studio album, due out April 30.
"No matter where you are, no matter how you live, there is that part of you that yearns to be free, to say, ‘What the hell…’ and just do what you want to do! That’s what this song is all about," Kenny explains. "The freedom and the idea that you can just say, 'Enough,’ even if it’s only in your mind."
Though Kenny has the means to go anywhere to in the world, he can't just pack up and head to the beach any time he wants to because of his touring and recording schedule. That's why he and his band party so hard with their fans every night on stage.
Kenny says, "Those people from the No Shoes Nation, throw it back at us even harder. Because for us, that mutiny against real life happens in the music, happens at the shows, happens when all get together.”
Kenny launches his No Shoes Nation tour March 16 in Tampa, FL. Look for more details on Kenny's as-yet-untitled new album to surface soon.
