Though he's often associated with Oklahoma, Ronnie Dunn was actually born in Coleman, TX.  That's one of the reasons it's fitting he is among the latest inductees into the Texas Heritage Songwriters' Association Hall of Fame.  The organization honors songwriters "who embody and celebrate the unique history and culture of Texas through their songwriting."

Ronnie says, "My music journey started in Texas, and I'm proud that Texas Heritage Songwriters' Association is bringing me back home to accept this award."

Ronnie began performing with in bar bands while a student at Abilene Christian University in Texas in the mid-'70s.

Sonny Curtis and the late Roger Miller will also be inducted at the 8th Annual Texas Heritage Songwriters' Association Hall of Fame Awards Show, March 3 in Austin.  Jack Ingram and Larry Gatlin will perform on the show, along with Toby Keith , who will pay tribute to Roger Miller.

Toby says of Roger, "If you want to hear cleverness, you want to hear wit and you want to hear charm -- you want to hear a 'Class A' songwriter, it's Roger Miller."
