CATCH IT: Kurt Warner makes mark in NFL history

by

LANSING (WKZO) – Kurt Warner may be the greatest undrafted player in NFL history.

Starting his 12-year NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 1994, Warner rose to stardom in St Louis. He led “The Greatest Show on Turf” to a Super Bowl win over the Tennessee Titans in 2000, and also earned the league MVP and Super Bowl MVP that season. Warner returned to the Super Bowl in 2008 with the Arizona Cardinals, the first Championship berth for the franchise.

In 13 career playoff games, Warner ranks first all-time in completion percentage (66.5%), yards per attempt (8.55), and second in passer rating (102.8). His career numbers are just as impressive, holding the seventh highest passer rating of all time (93.7), and the third highest career completion percentage in league history (65.5%). He retired in 2010.

It’s easy to see why Kurt Warner would want to slow down after retiring from the National Football League, but that is far from the case.

In an interview with Michael Patrick Shiels on Michigan’s Big Show, Warner spoke of an opportunity for fans to connect with past and present NFL stars through his foundation for the “Ultimate Football Experience”. Fans can enter for a chance to play flag football with their favorite players this March in Tempe Arizona.Catch it above.

Michigan’s Big Show can be heard on 590 AM/96.5 FM WKZO every weekday morning from 10am -12 pm.
