MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) - A Craigslist ad offering to sell a four-year-old boy for $1,000 is fake. 

Authorities say a Manitowoc teen posted it as a joke. 

The teen placed the ad through a commuter at the Roncalli High School. 

Authorities, fearing the worse, began investigating.  

The 17-year-old male was contacted by undercover authorities where he told them the boy had been sold for $1,200, but could get another boy.  

Authorities tracked the teen down and cited him for disorderly conduct.
