MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Wisconsin exported almost $3 billion worth of agricultural products to foreign customers last year.
State officials said Friday that the total exports were the most ever – and they were up 3 percent from 2011.
Dairy products, ethanol, and various items were the top items sold to foreign customers.
Most of the state’s $280 million in exported ethanol was shipped to Canada. Our neighbor to the north was among the five most popular export markets along with Mexico, China, Korea, and Japan.
The state’s exports to China grew by 49 percent from 2011.
