LA CROSSE, WI (WSAU) - The death of a UW-La Crosse senior has been traced to a combination of alcohol and hypothermia. An autopsy was conducted on Neala Frye. Medical Examiner John Steers says the intoxication was the primary cause of death.
Frye’s body was found Sunday near a spillway in the neighboring community of Onalaska. The investigation continues, but foul play is not suspected.
Campus officials say Frye was very active on campus.
A candlelight vigil was held Monday night for Frye outside of Body & Sol in Onalaska, one of the places Frye worked. She was working with a friend planning an event for her employer with a friend the night she died.
