Another winter storm preparing to hit much of Wisconsin

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The eastern half of Wisconsin could be in for a major snowstorm the next couple of days – with sleet and freezing rain mixed in.

Winter weather advisories have been posted for east central and northeast Wisconsin. 3 to 6 inches are in the forecast for the Fox Valley, Green Bay, and points further north.

Four to seven inches of snow are predicted for Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. Freezing drizzle is possible after the snow falls Thursday in the northeast.

Metro Milwaukee is under a winter storm watch during the day Thursday, with sleet tonight and 5 to 8 inches of new snow.

The Badger State has been hit for a week with light snows and several low-pressure systems. The National Weather Service now says the new system that’s due in Wednesday will pack a stronger punch.

The western half of Wisconsin can expect light snow, sleet, and freezing drizzle both Wednesday night and Thursday. And more fog is possible in some places Thursday morning.

Highs are projected to be in the 20’s statewide Wednesday, and in the 30’s Thursday through Sunday – when another storm system is due in.
