WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ) - After going unsolved for over 22 years, a former Wisconsin man is charged with a 1990 sexual assault in Waupaca County.
41-year-old Glendon C. Gouker is charged with first-degree sexual assault for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman at an Iola park.
Prosecutors say Gouker's DNA was found on evidence collected from that scene.
Gouker is currently in prison in Oklahoma awaiting trial on a 2010 case where he allegedly murdered a 19-year-old man and allegedly kidnapped and raped the victim's girlfriend.
The break in the case came in 2011 when evidence was re-submitted to the state crime lab for analysis as part of an investigation into a double homicide in the county in 1992.
That's when authorities say they discovered the link to Gouker that matched evidence from the 1990 rape. Sheriff Brad Hardel says on the night of November 5, Gouker allegedly forced the 20-year-old victim to Taylor Field Park in Iola where he raped and threatened her.
Hardel also says Gouker is a person of interest in the murder of 23-year-old Tanna Togstad and 35-year-old Tim Mumbrue.
