Marlon Byrd made a splashy debut with his new team, hitting a three run homer in the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday night at PNC Park. Acquired from the New York Mets on Tuesday, Byrd's 22 homer of the year came in the 7th and broke the game wide open. Josh Harrison went three for four as Pittsburgh cruised to the victory behind Charlie Morton on the mound. Tom Gorzelany took the loss, working five and third innings, giving up nine hits and four runs. Milwaukee managed just seven hits on offense, Carlos Gomez went two for four. The Brewers (58-74) will send Yovani Gallardo against Garret Cole in the series finale Thursday night. Pre-Game coverage begins at 5:30 PM on WNFL.
