UPDATE: One person killed after storm-caused traffic crash

MENOMINEE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - Officials in Menominee County say one person has died as a result of strong storms Wednesday night.

Authorities say there were multiple traffic accidents as a result of trees falling onto roads, one of them deadly.

Menominee Indian Tribal Chairman Craig Corn tells FOX 11 the victim is Marlo King.

A major part of Menominee County remains in the dark as of 11 a.m. Thursday. 

Alliant Energy is working to restore the power, but there isn't an estimate on when it will be back up. As of 1 p.m., about 2,200 customers are still without power in Menominee County.

Menominee County is asking residents not to call 911 to report electrical outages.
