MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo made the best of his return from the disabled list Saturday night, in a 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Gallardo (8-9) worked six-and-a-third innings, allowing only 3 hits and no runs. He had been on the 15-day DL, after suffering a hamstring injury a few weeks back.
Manager Ron Roenicke says he was “pleasantly surprised” with Gallardo’s performance, saying it often takes time getting back into rhythm after being out with an injury so long.
Closer Jim Henderson grabbed his 18th save, striking out all three batters in the 9th inning.
