Billy Currington 's attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf in a Savannah, GA court room Wednesday morning. According to ABC affiliate WJCL , Currington was not present for the hearing.
The country singer was indicted last April on charges of making terroristic threats and elder abuse. Court documents claim Currington threatened to cause bodily harm to Charles Harvey Ferelle , who is more than age 65. The two apparently got into a disagreement when Ferelle drove his boat in front of Currington's property near Savannah.
Currington's next scheduled court appearance is set for October 4.
