Crunch time for NBC 26 as Packers preseason nears

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - Packers preseason games begin next Friday and the official Packers station remains off of Time Warner Cable.

Similar Time Warner Cable disputes over rebroadcasting fees continued Friday across the nation.

Three million customers in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas lost the CBS network, after the cable provider dropped them because of a failure to reach a new contract agreement by 5 p.m. Eastern Time Friday.

NBC 26 parent company Journal Communications based in Milwaukee continues to negotiate with Time Warner over fee increases the cable provider pays.

WGBA-TV in Green Bay and WTMJ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Milwaukee, were dropped by Time Warner last week over a fee dispute and failure to reach an agreement on a new contract.

Journal owns 15 television stations in 12 states, all of which have been pulled from Time Warner.

NBC 26 broadcasts all of the Packers pre-season games which start next Friday, August 9th.
