NEW MUNSTER, WI (WTAQ) - Flood warnings continue on parts of 14 rivers throughout Wisconsin, but there still only one place where major flooding is predicted.
That’s along the Fox River in Kenosha County, which was still two-and-a-half feet above its banks at New Munster Wednesday night.
This week’s heavy rains contributed to the flooding conditions – along with snow melt.
Minor floods are expected on the Fox River at Burlington, Waukesha, and Berlin. The Black River was down by a foot Thursday at Black River Falls, but was still 2.6 feet above its flood stage. Minor floods are forecast there, with moderate flooding on the Black River at Galesville.
Warnings have also been issued on rivers which are either over their banks, or close spilling over. They include the Kickapoo, Baraboo, Trempealeau, Crawfish, Pecatonica, Milwaukee, Root, Sheboygan, Sugar, Manitowoc, and Yellow rivers.
They’re all expected to drop below their flood stages by the middle of next week.
