MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) - Air shows are the latest victims of the automatic federal spending cuts.
The head of a show in Manitowoc says there will not be any military jets at her event this year.
Jutta Furca heads the “Thunder on the Lakeshore Air Show.” She said the Air Force has grounded the Thunderbirds, and she does not expect participation from Army or Navy planes, either.
Furca also said the sequester cuts will eliminate the military from other flying events, including the EAA’s week-long AirVenture Show in Oshkosh this summer.
Furca says it will not stop the Lakeshore event from taking place on June 8th and 9th at the Manitowoc County Airport.
