Incumbent state Supreme Court Justice Roggensack wins another 10-year term

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - Incumbent state supreme court justice Pat Roggensack will serve another ten year term on the high court.

Marquette University Law School professor Ed Fallone conceded the race Tuesday night. Roggensack had 57-percent of the vote, to Fallone's 43-percent. Her margin of victory is more than 120,000 votes.

Roggensack credits the win to her nearly 17-years of experience behind the bench.

“I really think voters got my message which was pretty simple, that if you want to do the work of a judge it’s nice to have done the work yourself before you decide if someone else has been doing it correctly” Roggensack said.

In his concession speech, Fallone called on the justice to work on addressing the dysfunction on the court.

Roggensack has said she wants to fix the damage that's been done to the institution, following an altercation between two of her fellow justices when the court was considering a challenge to Governor Walker's collective bargaining legislation.
