GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The expansion of Green Bay’s Lambeau Field is on time and on budget.

That’s what officials are saying about a $143 million renovation at the home of the Packers.

Fans who’ve attended Packer games this season have seen the outline of the additional seats in the south end zone. The seats have not been installed yet, but the new and larger video boards on both ends of the stadium are up and running.

The Packers are paying the entire cost of the project, and they’ve spent around $75 million so far.

Team spokesman Aaron Popkey says there’s been a good amount of interest from current season ticket holders in the new south end zone seats – but the allocation process is just beginning.

Around 3,800 more people are expected to get season tickets – the top entries on the Packers’ long waiting list.

The total project is almost two-thirds’ complete, and it’s all expected to be ready in time for the 2013 season. By that time, the stadium will hold almost 80,000 fans.
