DARBOY, WI (WTAQ) - The mother of a Fox Valley boy battling a rare skin disease says his healing continues.
In her online journal, Trisha Knuth says Charlie Knuth met with a doctor at the University of Minnesota on Friday.
That next step in Charlie's healing process is producing his own bone marrow cells.
The doctor said Charlie's bone marrow is 97 percent donor, which is considered a very good number.
Trisha says Charlie's white blood and neutrophil counts are low, but that's often the case after a transplant. This leaves him prone to infection, but she says his skin is looking great.
