Nearly $13M in FEMA aid going to three Wisconsin counties for flood damage

SUPERIOR, WI (WTAQ) - FEMA will send nearly $13 million in disaster relief to three northern Wisconsin counties.

The funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be used to fix damage caused by storms last June which produced significant flooding in several locations, including Superior.

Most of the money – more than $11.5 million – is going to Douglas County. The rest will go to Ashland and Bayfield counties.

Almost 50 communities will be getting the federal help. Superior is getting $1.6 million and that doesn’t include money to cover damages at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
