OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) - The president of the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh is leaving after just two years.
Rod Hightower says he’ll move back to St. Louis, where his wife and five children still live.
Hightower said he thought his family could relocate to Oshkosh when he took the job in 2010. But the family has become more involved in their present schools as the kids are growing. And Hightower said it would be too great of a burden to have the family move away.
EAA Board Chairman Jack Pelton will run the operation for now. Hightower was only the third person in the 59 years to serve as the EAA’s president.
Paul Poberezny headed the group from 1953 to ’89. And his son Tom was the president for the next 21 years, until 2010.
