MONONA, WI (WTAQ) - A 30-year-old Madison area man allegedly bit a police officer after he was stopped for drunk driving.

Monona Police said the suspect left his car and refused to follow an officer’s orders – and the two got into a scuffle.

The officer called for backup, and police said the man continued to resist them. They eventually handcuffed the driver and placed in a squad car, but the man bit one of the officers and damaged the squad car.

Police say the man faces a number of possible charges – including fourth-offense drunk driving, and battery to an officer.
